Cape Kidnappers/ Te Kauwae-a-maui is a headland 20 km south east of Napier at the southeastern extremity of Hawkes Bay and sits at the end of an 8 Kilometre peninsula which protrudes into the Pacific Ocean.
Lake Waikaremoana is located in Te Urewera in the North Island 60km north-west of Wairoa and 80km south-west of Gisborne. The Maori translation of Waikaremoana is ?sea of ripping waters'. The lake lies in the heart of Tuhoe.
Te Mata Peak is south of Hastings rising up to 399m in the Te Mata Hills in the Hawkes Bay. Sealed roads leads to a popular lookout at the summit as well as several trails. Hastings suburb of Havelock North is built on the slopes of the peak.
